German actress Renate Krößner is dead. She passed away just days after her 75th birthday, her husband confirms.

Renate Krößner died yesterday, May 25th. The German actress was 75 years old. “My wife died on Monday after a short, serious illness,” confirms her husband, the actor Bernd Stegemann, 71, in an interview with “Bild” It was her birthday just a few days earlier.

Krößner played in the GDR alongside actors like Manfred Krug († 79) in the film “Feuer unter Deck” (1977). After Krößner left the country in the summer of 1985, the two met again while filming Liebling Kreuzberg in West Berlin.

In addition to Stegemann, Krößner’s son Eugen in particular is mourning. He comes from the relationship with the actor Hermann Beyer (76, Unterleuten – the torn village) from Altenburg.

BILD also reached “Solo Sunny” screenwriter Wolfgang Kohlhaase (89). He said quietly: “Renate had an extraordinary acting talent. She will be missed.”
