Revealed on [email protected] Yesterday, Showcase developer Rose City Games confirmed that it will be bringing its turn-based card battler Floppy Knights to Xbox One, PC and Mac in Q2 2022. In addition, the game will also be published on Xbox’s subscription service, Game Pass.

Accompanying the news is a new trailer showcasing the whimsical deck-building mayhem that players can expect when it releases later this year.

Fusing turn-based tactical gameplay with strategic deck-building mechanics, Floppy Knights is a colorful world filled with adorable characters to meet and strange creatures to slay.

The soundtrack is composed by sound designer Grahm Nesbitt, who previously worked on the charming adventure title Garden Story. If you want to hear the Floppy Knights soundtrack, you can do so here. It’s pretty catchy!

For more information, here is a general synopsis of an official press release we recently received:

Embark as brilliant programmer Phoebe and her clever, reliable robotic arm – and her own invention! – Carlton on an adventure. Experiment with the powerful Floppy Knights, floppy disks that transform into tangible projections of plants, monsters and other collectible battle creatures, before entering the annual Gadget Cup to snag the winner’s cash prize. Help needy townsfolk, earn some quick cash and pick up Phoebe’s parents off their case as they find “real” jobs by taking odd jobs around town.

Engage in turn-based tactical combat with a deck filled with Phoebe’s creations including Succulent Kickers, Skateboard Ghosts and the fearsome Big Mad. Complete the main objectives to level up while completing secondary missions to earn BigCoins win and create new cards. Upgrade cards in battle to empower them with more powerful attacks, and expand the deck by unlocking new cards in Phoebe’s workshop.

Become a local hero by saving crops from starving goblin routs, rescuing an ogre trapped at the base of an active volcano, and preventing the science fair from being postponed. Build a deck strong enough to take on no-good troublemakers, monstrous BeheMoths, and sticky slimes. Face Alex, Phoebe’s nemesis and quintessential copycat, as she attempts to shake her every turn with her own vicious robotic companion, Snarlton.

Build Plant, Monster, and Hooligan decks by unlocking new card categories. Plants like Commander Vera are friendly and helpful in restoring health to units with sunbath boosts. Mean monsters like Jessica and Quiver Kid are great offensive cards, capable of great damage combos with extra attacks or more powerful hits at the expense of self-dealt damage. Meanwhile, sneaky hooligans always have a buff card up their sleeve. Teen Spirits may be cute, but with the right map, they can hit all surrounding enemies at once and knock them back a few spaces.
