Yohemas ‘Beach Sand’ Playground

Sherwood Park’s ‘beach sand’ playground will make you feel like you’ve escaped the city for a tropical vacation, and it also has one of the greatest toddler climbs in the area. St. Boniface Catholic Elementary School

If you enjoy large slides, the play structure at St. Boniface is for you. Even the youngest members of our staff enjoy a large blue and green whirling slide (which is entirely enclosed). When you arrive, the playground’s water and earth vibes inspire a wonderful game of ‘waterslide,’ in which the kids pretend to swim into a pool.

There’s no denying that this playground is entertaining, but there’s one feature that sets it different from the rest of Edmonton’s top playgrounds: the spinning Zipline. Three children at a time can board the Zipline-style chairs and spin around the structure. Prepare to spend an hour chasing your children around on this contraption, but the joyous shouts will be worth it.

Crestwood Community Playground

The square climber playground in Crestwood is one of the few playgrounds where you may climb and run around. This Community League playground features good shade, a zipline, expression swings, and one of the nicest structures we’ve ever seen for playing ‘Hot Lava.’ You don’t have any older children that wish to climb? On the ground, there’s a lot to see and do. The Zipline will appeal to younger children because it is an accessible chair type rather than the standard Zipline.

Wolf Willow Playground

With a name like Wolf Willow, we had to include it on the list. This playground is truly unique with its teepee-style climbers and wood carvings of animals that adorn the playground. The ground is covered in soft bark mulch, and there’s a creek running through it that makes for a perfect place to cool off on a hot day.

The fact that you’re so near to one of the most fascinating river valley routes to explore, as well as the buried dinosaurs ready to be excavated, will delight your children.

The Hills at Charlesworth

The Hills at Charlesworth is a must-see for anybody interested in modern playgrounds and sustainability. It’s a contemporary timber and acrylic climbing tower with a toddler playground and covered container-made seats for parents that are difficult enough for bigger kids. The huge watering can be a hit with your younger children!
